R6 Product Update, More Than Just Bug Fixes
By Joseph Lasee, Senior Product Manager, Intuit QuickBooks
In the past, QuickBooks updates have been focused on fixing an important issue, or updating payroll tax tables. After each new yearly version of QuickBooks is released, many people wait for a few updates to pass before feeling confident that the product has all the kinks ironed out. Things are starting to change, and we think you will like what you see.
Now with the latest release of QuickBooks Enterprise v15 (Release R6), we are introducing more than just bug fixes. But don’t worry, we haven’t gone off the deep end and changed everything on you. Our goal is to introduce some meaningful improvements throughout the year that don’t require you to learn anything new or change the way you work, but respond to real feedback you have given us to make working in QuickBooks even more efficient.
Here are a couple examples of the changes you can find in the latest release of QuickBooks Enterprise:
Find and Select Items on Estimates
Do you have a long list of items? Is it a pain to scroll through them all to find just the right item to select when you are creating an estimate in QuickBooks? In the past we created a feature called “Find and Select Items” and made it available on most transactions…except estimates. We heard your feedback and took this opportunity to make your estimate creation process even easier. Now, when you create that next estimate and you go to add that first item, click on <Find and Select Items> where you can easily sift through your item list and save time finding just the right item.
Accountant Tools Available for All QuickBooks Enterprise Customers
Previously, you needed to buy the QuickBooks Accountant Edition to get access to a set of pretty nifty tools that help you keep your books in order. Or, you needed to call your accountant and send them your file. Now you have access to this set of tools to manage your books like a professional. Some of the highlights include:
- Reclassify transactions in batch – if you use class tracking in QuickBooks, this one can save you a lot of time as you can easily see all your transactions and reclassify them in one fell swoop.
- Write Off Invoices – It’s a sad fact of business that sometimes your customer just doesn’t pay. When you reach that conclusion it’s time to write off those invoices as bad debt and get it off your books. You can now do that more efficiently with this nifty accountant tool.
- Make a Period Copy – did you ever need to share with someone a specific slice of your company information? Maybe the government or a bank needs to see just 2012-2014. With a Period Copy, you can make a copy of your company file that only includes the time period you choose, so you don’t have to overshare your business information.
- Many more!
All these “Accountant” features just make sense. We built them for power users, more professional users. And that’s exactly who you are as a QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions customer.
There are a few other handy new “featurettes” that we released to help you save time or in direct response to the feedback we received from you. So on that note, here’s where I’ll leave it.
We are listening to your feedback, so please keep it coming. We’ve made it easy for you to send feedback, by offering a feedback tool right in QuickBooks Enterprise. Here is how you can access that tool:
1.) Open QuickBooks Enterprise 15.0 2) Select Help 3) Click Send Feedback Online
We look forward to hearing from you soon!
